Chauncey Leroy Piper homesteaded this area south of the Chapel of the Holy Cross in 1942, one of the last homesteads granted in Sedona. His wife, Della Rae, was from the Smiths of Sedona. This photo is from 1957, and in the panoramic view also shows the famous Chapel. click for panoramic view
